    "What is Burning Man"
Craft Alliance Metals Artist-in-Residence Michael Parrett, a longtime participant of "Burning Man," will host an evening of film and discussion about the annual event in the Gallery and Education Center in the Kranzberg Arts Center. "Burning Man" takes place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada each summer, an event during which thousands of participants gather to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression and self-reliance. They leave one week later, leaving no trace that the city existed.

    Bank Holiday
Since I have a bank holiday from work Monday I'm thinking about taking myself to see Van Gogh: A Brush with Genius at the Omnimax at the Science Center. Haven't decided on the 11a or 3p show yet.

    Moving Boxes
I have a leaning tower of collapsed boxes, anyone want them before I send them to the recycle center? I would prefer to have them out by tonight in prep for tomorrow's house warming party.

**Edit: the mountain of boxes is gone and I found a pool table :) **

    New House, New Name
So after much nerfing around I've decided on a name for the shiny new house!
    "That Wyrde Place"
    As in:
    "So where's the party at?"
"Oh you know, at That Wyrde Place."

    Packing & Moving Info
Finally got the last bit of the contract (mostly) worked out with the crazy bitch buyer.

    Packing Day!
Sunday Dec 20th 10a-4p at Casa del Gato
By then I should be pretty much down to the kitchen & bathroom, I've been keeping up a daily box quota since this process started.

    Moving Day!
Wed Dec 23rd starting at Casa del Gato moving to Shiny New Yet to be Named
Movers are set to arrive around 8a & I'll need to leave the house around 9a to sign papers.
Could use help directing traffic, baby sitting the house while I'm out signing papers, and a car or two to move misc crap that doesn't fit well in boxes (ie lamps, artwork, stereo).

Any help is appreciated and will be rewarded with much affection and maybe pizza :)

    Santarchy 2009
HO HO uH-Oh! You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why: Santarchy is coming to town!

It's time for St. Louis' own version of the time-honored tradition of Santarchy. "What is Santarchy?" you say? Santarchy is better experienced than explained, but I'll tell you this. Saturday December 12th, all those with the affinity for the FrEaKy, the curiosity of the CrAzY are invited to get dressed up in a Santa Suit and join us in celebration of and/or protestation to the holiday season.

Dress as your own inner Santa or whatever other holidayesque outfit you create and join us for an all day march all around St. Louis spreading holiday cheer and presents. Yes, presents too. If you come across the mob of Santa's on December 20th you will most likely leave with a gift. Previous gifts have included candy-canes, lumps of coal, mutant toys, vegetables, special prizes, and many other twisted gifts for the naughty and nice little boys and girls.

Santas shall stomp, stumble and spit across the city while chanting, "You better Watch Out! You better Watch Out! You better Watch Out! You better Watch Out!..." Come rampage through the city. All are welcome

So get your Santa Suit on and come join us for StL Santarchy 2009.

    Dragon Con 2009!
Getting picked up later, much later, tonight :)
Been excited about the trip, but have been having trouble breaking through the inertia. Dealing with some moderate depression, not unsurprising given the time of year.
So lined up to volunteer with the Art Show which gives me a discounted ticket and some nifty experience. Got 3 costumes done: a new Star Trek original series uniform, a BSG ready uniform, and a B5 psi-corp costume. Should prove to be lots of fun.

Ponyo Opens at the Tivoli Fri
Getting a group together to go to the 7:20p show Friday night :)

From the Academy Award-winning director and world-renowned Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke) comes a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid." Already a huge box-office success in Japan, the story of a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) and her quest to become human features an outstanding roster of voice talent, including Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, Betty White and Frankie Jonas as Sosuke, a young boy who befriends Ponyo.

WFS: The Day the Earth Stood Still
    Webster University Film Series Presents

    July 31, August 1 & 2 at 8PM
The Day the Earth Stood Still (Robert Wise, 1951, USA, 92 min.)
When alien Klaatu (Michael Rennie) and his mighty robot Gort (Lock Martin) land their spacecraft on Cold War-era Earth to bring an important message to the planet, they have a hard time getting the message across to the trigger happy Earthlings. After escaping a hospital, Klaatu moves in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy, and - listen up – he will destroy the Earth if provoked. Far superior to the bulk of the 1950’s sci-fi flicks, Wise’s film is a rich, allegorical meditation the Cold War.

For more information go to: http://www.webster.edu/filmseries

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for seniors, students from other schools and Webster alumni, and $4 for Webster University staff and faculty unless otherwise noted. All films screened in Moore Auditorium on the campus of Webster University, 470 E. Lockwood, Webster Groves, MO unless noted.

The Webster University Film Series receives funding from the Regional Arts Commission; the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis; and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

    Sans Roommates
As several people already know, the roommate situation with my thing too has not been working out. So as of the end of the month I will be sans roommates. This will be the first time I've ever lived by myself, weird. If you want to know details you may ask me privately, I may or may not give answers.

So I am looking for not one, but two roommates at this time. I do have a line on someone from Kansas City, we'll see where that goes.
