    Dragon Con 2009!
Getting picked up later, much later, tonight :)
Been excited about the trip, but have been having trouble breaking through the inertia. Dealing with some moderate depression, not unsurprising given the time of year.
So lined up to volunteer with the Art Show which gives me a discounted ticket and some nifty experience. Got 3 costumes done: a new Star Trek original series uniform, a BSG ready uniform, and a B5 psi-corp costume. Should prove to be lots of fun.

I was looking for some fairly common experiences to make this list. Also note that I'm just ok if they stay on the I've never list :)

Ponyo Opens at the Tivoli Fri
Getting a group together to go to the 7:20p show Friday night :)

From the Academy Award-winning director and world-renowned Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke) comes a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid." Already a huge box-office success in Japan, the story of a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) and her quest to become human features an outstanding roster of voice talent, including Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, Betty White and Frankie Jonas as Sosuke, a young boy who befriends Ponyo.

WFS: The Day the Earth Stood Still
    Webster University Film Series Presents

    July 31, August 1 & 2 at 8PM
The Day the Earth Stood Still (Robert Wise, 1951, USA, 92 min.)
When alien Klaatu (Michael Rennie) and his mighty robot Gort (Lock Martin) land their spacecraft on Cold War-era Earth to bring an important message to the planet, they have a hard time getting the message across to the trigger happy Earthlings. After escaping a hospital, Klaatu moves in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy, and - listen up – he will destroy the Earth if provoked. Far superior to the bulk of the 1950’s sci-fi flicks, Wise’s film is a rich, allegorical meditation the Cold War.

For more information go to: http://www.webster.edu/filmseries

Admission is $6 for the general public, $5 for seniors, students from other schools and Webster alumni, and $4 for Webster University staff and faculty unless otherwise noted. All films screened in Moore Auditorium on the campus of Webster University, 470 E. Lockwood, Webster Groves, MO unless noted.

The Webster University Film Series receives funding from the Regional Arts Commission; the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis; and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

    Sans Roommates
As several people already know, the roommate situation with my thing too has not been working out. So as of the end of the month I will be sans roommates. This will be the first time I've ever lived by myself, weird. If you want to know details you may ask me privately, I may or may not give answers.

So I am looking for not one, but two roommates at this time. I do have a line on someone from Kansas City, we'll see where that goes.

    Busy Saturday
Looks like I get to start with an adventure in IL. Shattered Crystal is having an event I'm planning on daytripping. Looks like there will be archery! I haven't gotten to do any SCA archery yet this season. So looking forward to that. Then off to Belleville, IL to see my favorite duo perform at the Castletown Geoghegan. If I have any steam left over I'll make an apperance at the D&B Party before heading home.
